Winter Poetry

White and Green
by Shadow

In wintertime
There’s lots of snow
The world is white
Where e’er you go.

The whiteness of
The wintry scene's
A scary sight
For a bird that’s green.

I never like
To go outside
‘Cause there’s no place
Where I can hide.

I’d be an easy
Target for
A hungry hunting
Predator.

So in my house
I like to stay
It’s safer for
A bird that’s prey.

And when the green
Returns with Spring
I’ll go outside
And squawk and sing.
