Ode to the Furnace
The furnace keeps me nice and warm
In chilly autumn weather,
And though it isn’t quite as soft,
It’s warm as any feather.
The furnace lives beneath the house,
Where it rumbles, shakes, and blows
To keep me toasty as can be
From my beak down to my toes
Though autumn days are warmed by sun,
They’re chilly by afternoon’s end,
And that is why I’m very glad
That the furnace is my friend!
